England Logistics Director Makes “Women to Watch” List

May 30, 2011 --  Salt Lake City, Utah – Michelle Potter, Director of Strategic Development at England Logistics, was named by Utah Business magazine as one of the 2011 Top 30 Women to Watch.  For the 12th consecutive year, women demonstrating accomplishment through business achievement and community involvement will be honored during the official ‘Women to Watch’ awards ceremony.

The publication, along with a judging panel comprised of former 30 Women to Watch award recipients, selected the 2011 honorees.  Nominations were accepted on behalf of female business owners, high level executives and professionals.   The publication sought women who have an established record of success within their field, are strong leaders, are involved in their communities, and have overcome personal or professional obstacles to achieve success.

The 30 female recipients were honored during the official awards luncheon at the Grand America Hotel on May 25.  News anchor Hope Woodside emceed the event and presented each recipient with a commemorative plaque.  

Michelle joined England Logistics in 2009.  In her role as Director of Strategic Development, Michelle oversees a number of areas including: operational analytics, information technology, marketing and agent operations for the full truckload division. Though her tenure with England Logistics has been short, Michelle has added a number of powerful accomplishments to her portfolio.  Most significantly, she was the driving force behind the selection, negotiation, and implementation of McLeod PowerBroker, a transportation management system now utilized by the largest division of England Logistics.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Potter served in a variety of positions with Con-way Multimodal, Inc., where she had a significant role in multiple business startups, and ultimately served as the company’s President.  Ms. Potter is a cum laude graduate of Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. She is a member of the Transportation Intermediary Association.
