Wendi joined the England Logistics team at the beginning of 2016. Since then, she has worked diligently as a Capacity Manager in the Cold Chain division. Learn more about Wendi and her experience at England Logistics!
What brought you to England Logistics?
I was a stay-at-home mom and not really looking for a job. When I decided to interview at England Logistics, I felt comfortable and not like I was being interviewed. The managers were themselves and it completely sold me.
How is England Logistics different than other companies you’ve worked for?
The atmosphere is more relaxed than other companies I’ve worked for. The culture is fun and upbeat. I really enjoy the people I work with.
What has been your most memorable moment at England Logistics?
It has to be EL’s 2017 Dodgeball Competition. I was the team captain and our team won!
Which EL core value in COACH Team (Career, Open communication, Accountability, Celebration, Hard work, Team) means the most to you and why?
Open communication means the most to me. Without being able to talk to your superiors and co-workers and have that feeling of being able to work together, everyone is lost and confused. Everything starts with open communication.
How does the 2018 theme “Live Limitless” match your own passions?
I’m passionate about helping my kids grow. I want to get them where they want to go and help them achieve their goals.
Do you have any advice for new or potential EL employees?
Get to know everybody in each of the departments. This will allow you to network and understand every facet of EL so you can further your career and know how to better serve customers and carriers. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
What’s your favorite work snack?
Pepsi and Hot Tamales.
What do you do for fun?
Our family enjoys going shooting. I also like going to Nascar in Las Vegas. My husband and I have a tradition of going to two races each year.
What’s your favorite show to binge watch?
I love “The Ranch” but I can’t watch it without my husband. When he’s not home, I watch “Psych.”
What’s your favorite/dream vacation spot?
Holland. I lived there for a few years and would like to visit again.
What inspires you?
My kids. I have two boys and two girls.
What is your greatest achievement?
My kids.
What keyword or motto do you live by?
One day at a time.
What’s your favorite training program?
I completed the ELevation program. It helped me to refocus on prioritizing my work day and take things one day at a time. It was also fun to get to know other people in the company that I might not have interacted with otherwise.
