Have you ever met someone that you knew was destined for success? It doesn’t matter what occupation they choose, some people are on a one-way road to victory.

With two degrees, a successful career, and a smile, Danielle is one such individual. It seems that an ambition for people and a desire to work hard are staples of a successful person, and Danielle possesses an overabundance of both attributes.

Having already attained success, the fun comes in observing just how far Danielle will go.

Starting as a staff accountant in February 2021, Danielle was rapidly promoted and assumed the role of an accounting manager in July of 2022.

Danielle: My name is Danielle, and I am an accounting manager at England Logistics. I started here in February of 2021!

EL: That’s an impressive position. What does it entail, and how did you progress to that point?

Danielle: I am over the England Carrier Services (ECS) divisions: factoring, tires, and fuel. I ensure all the financials are accurate and up to date for those divisions. I have a team of three incredible people. I have two accountants and one financial analyst. I started here in February of 2021 as a staff accountant, then I was promoted, then in July, I have promoted again to accounting manager.

EL: That’s such a quick progression. What about outside of work? What are your passions?

Danielle: My passions outside of work are anything outside. I love boating with my family during the summer. I love water skiing and wakeboarding. During the winter, I love skiing. I go to all the different ski resorts in Utah. I love it. I love hiking and traveling and just being in nature.

EL: What about nature is so appealing to you?

Danielle: I just love the peace that I feel when I’m outside. It’s so relaxing and especially right now; fall is my favorite time of year, and it’s gorgeous.

EL: I agree; it’s beautiful out there. What would you say your proudest accomplishment is?

Danielle: I would say my proudest accomplishment is my education. I got my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, so I’m proud of that. My career progression is my next biggest accomplishment.

EL: Wow! You must love what you do. What about accounting do you like so much?

Danielle: I love accounting. I know that sounds kind of funny, but I love working with numbers and the stability of it. I love when everything comes together, and it’s just like a puzzle fitting together.

EL: We’re fortunate to have someone with such a passion for solving problems. What was a professionally defining moment for you at England Logistics?

Danielle: I think a professionally defining moment here at England Logistics would be completing budgets. I was putting together all the budgets for the ECS division, so factoring, tires and fuel. This was my first year doing it.

We ran into many obstacles, and it was a very time-consuming process, but regardless, I learned so much, and I grew a lot as an accountant and as a team. It was a great learning experience.

EL: I can imagine it gets complicated sometimes. So why do you do what you do and enjoy it? What’s your ‘why’?

Danielle: My why is for the people in my life, the people I care about, my family, my friends, my coworkers, and building relationships. I love getting to know new people and strengthening the relationships with those I already know.

EL:  That’s beautiful. Is there something that most people don’t know about you?

Danielle: One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I am a licensed cosmetologist and an accountant. I did that in high school to put myself through college to get my accounting degree.

EL: That takes such incredible ambition. Do you have a mantra or motto that you follow throughout your life?

Danielle: I fully believe that life is full of ups and downs or peaks and valleys, and I just think you need to enjoy the mountains and grow from the valleys.

EL: I think that mentality will serve you well. With that philosophy in mind, where do you go from here?

Danielle: I would love to keep progressing as a manager. I love my team. I love working with them, and I hope to continue working with them and grow with them as a team. I don’t know where else I would go. I would just love to refine the skills that I have and just continue my career progress.

EL: That commitment is powerful. Why do you feel such a connection to England Logistics?

Danielle: I continue to stay at England Logistics for the people. I love the people that I work with. I love my team. I have fantastic employees. I work for awesome people, and we have so much fun. We get a lot done.

EL: Wow, you are in the right place. What attributes do you possess that make you such a good fit here?

Danielle: I have worked very hard to get where I am, which has shown in my work… especially in budgets!

EL: I can imagine! So, what exactly does a day in your work life look like?

Danielle: A day for me looks like coming in and getting all of my cash reconciliations up to date, making sure that the balance sheet reconciliations look good, making sure that our financials look good, and doing any projects for any of the directors or any of any members of the team they may need.

EL: You said you like getting to know people and building relationships. What about that do you enjoy so much?

Danielle: I love building relationships. I think it’s an essential thing in my life. I love my relationship with my family, friends, and coworkers. I believe that you must build strong relationships to be successful.

EL: I think that goes for whatever you do! So really, what is the reason you choose to stay with England Logistics?

Danielle: I love the culture of England Logistics. We have so many fun activities. I love Summer Games and dodgeball… we have so many challenges, and it’s just fun to come to work. I love working with my team and getting to know them better.

EL: That’s beautiful. Any other comments you’d like to mention?

Danielle: I have gained so much from working at England Logistics. I have learned much, increased my accounting and finance knowledge, and strengthened my relationships. I have worked with people I will probably stay in contact with for a very long time. There are people that I still talk to that are no longer with the company.
