SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, February 6, 2018 – England Logistics, one of the nation’s top freight brokerage firms, is pleased to announce the launch of the company’s new initiative, in conjunction with C.R. England, to feed one million hungry children per year beginning in 2018.
The program, called the One initiative, is a joint effort between England Logistics and parent company C.R. England. The effort focuses on addressing the needs of the millions of children in the U.S. without consistent access to adequate food. The company will donate proceeds from business transactions and fundraising efforts to youth programs at food banks across the nation.
This will be accomplished through a donation structure that converts profits earned from completed business transactions into proceeds for meals. The One initiative’s efforts will be tied to food banks where the company’s offices are located to ensure a complete community outreach.
The One initiative engages customers, carriers and freight agents to participate in the program by doing business with England Logistics. Each individual or company that conducts business with England Logistics contributes to a child in need simply by engaging the company for their business needs. Employees also contribute though their daily business interactions with customers and carriers. In addition, they will also be provided opportunities to donate via internal fundraising events, voluntary payroll deductions and One items for purchase. These proceeds will go directly to the partnered food banks.

Participating food banks include Utah Food Bank, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, Community Food Bank (Fresno, CA), Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino, Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Food Bank of the Rockies, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, Greater Chicago Food Depository, North Texas Food Bank, Oregon Food Bank, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Second Harvest Inland Northwest, Second Harvest of Southeast North Carolina, South Texas Food Bank, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, and Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.
According to Feeding America, nearly 13 million children in the U.S. live in households without consistent access to adequate food. That breaks down to one out of every six children not knowing when or where they will get their next meal and 20% of children relying entirely on charitable programs for meals. These children also struggle with education and overall development as a result of malnutrition.
The invitation to donate is also extended to the public. Every donation leads directly to a food insecure child receiving a meal. The One initiative is founded on the idea that through unity, a nationwide difference can be made.
