What brought you to England Logistics?

I was looking to make a career change and wanted a company that had the same cultural values that I did. Two of my friends told me about England Logistics and I was sold.

How is England Logistics different than other companies you’ve worked for?

I’ve never worked for a company where the vision for the company is as clear as it is here. While working at other companies, I never met the president of the organization. When I came to England Logistics and saw Jason Beardall, England Logistics’ president, walking among everybody, I was surprised.

Which EL core value in COACHTeam (Career, Open communication, Accountability, Celebration, Hard work, Team) means the most to you and why?

It could be that I’m ex-military, but I believe everyone should be held accountable for their actions and celebrated for them as well.

How does the 2019 theme “Team Up” match your own passions?

It’s military-type camaraderie. We have a mantra on our team, “Win together, fail together.” The team isn’t winning until everyone is elevated.

Do you have any advice for new or potential EL employees?

If you don’t know your “why” take the time to figure it out. You don’t know where you’re going unless you have vision.

What’s your favorite work snack?

I like my creamer with a little bit of coffee.

What do you do for fun?

I love woodworking and building things. I’m always interested in things that make me work with my hands. I also love aquascaping and creating fish tanks. Any type of science experiment fascinates me.

What’s your favorite show to binge watch?

“Friends.”

What’s your favorite/dream vacation spot?

Okinawa, Japan would be a dream. I’m one-quarter Japanese. My grandmother is from Okinawa, so I’d love to learn more about my heritage.

What inspires you?

What motivates me the most in all aspects of life is to leave a mark. To make something better when I leave. It’s not the recognition, but the pride knowing I made a difference.

What keyword or motto do you live by?

“You get what you give.”

What’s your favorite training program at EL?

The president’s introduction for new hires because I think it is the most impactful. In the very first week at England Logistics, you get to ask the president questions to solidify why you chose to work here.
