The England Logistics team is made up of focused, committed and downright delightful individuals. As one of the nation’s top freight brokerage firms, our success and reputation are due to the unique skills and personalities that each member of our team contributes. To help you get to know the people behind England Logistics, we are highlighting an employee each month and sharing their story.

England Logistics welcomed Jason to the Salt Lake City Dry LTL division in June 2010. Since then, he has worked his way up to his current position, Senior Account Manager (SAM). Learn more about Jason and his experience at England Logistics!

What brought you to England Logistics?

During the recession, I was looking for a new job and there was an England building near my house. It wasn’t England Logistics, but it led me to research England Logistics and apply.

How is England Logistics different than other companies you’ve worked for?

I really enjoy the sales focus here. It was nice coming to a company that understands the sales process. The hard work that you put in at EL is recognized and you’re compensated for how hard you work. That really makes a difference. Employee Spotlight - Jason

Which EL core value in COACH Team (Career, Open communication, Accountability, Celebration, Hard work, Team) means the most to you and why?

Accountability means the most to me. Working here, you’re in charge of your own destiny. Even though we’re part of a team, each individual is responsible for their own success. I work as hard as I can each day and am accountable for my own success.

How does the 2018 theme “Live Limitless” match your own passions?

Since I started working at EL, I’ve never put a limit on how successful I’m going to be at my job. After getting let go during the recession, I faced self-doubt. However, once I came to EL I didn’t put a limit on what I could achieve. I wanted to prove everyone wrong and prove to myself that I could be successful.

Do you have any advice for new or potential EL employees?

Succeeding here isn’t rocket science. If you work hard and are willing to build relationships, you’ll be successful. I know details about each of my customers because it’s much easier to ship with a friend than it is to ship with someone that can just give you a good rate. Freight is a livelihood for many people. You need to be willing to come in and work hard to help them.

What’s your favorite work snack?

My coworker has a drawer filled with chips that we share.

What do you do for fun?

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. We do a lot together, such as camping, hiking and playing ping pong. I also probably watch an unhealthy amount of college football. My son and I love going to University of Utah games. Employee Spotlight - Jason

What’s your favorite show to binge watch?

My favorite TV show to watch is probably “Burn Notice.”

What’s your favorite/dream vacation spot?

At some point my wife and I would like to go on a European vacation.

What inspires you?

The biggest thing that inspires me is my family. They make me want to do well and be someone that they can look up to and rely on.

What is your greatest achievement?

Personally, it’s being a father. I have three kids. Professionally, it’s really starting at EL. I started when the Dry LTL division was new. Being able to help build it up and get where I am today is something I’m proud of.

What’s your favorite training program?

Although it’s not a training program, I enjoyed working my way up to Senior Account Manager (SAM). This advancement wasn’t available when I started at EL. Once they began offering SAM positions, I worked hard to achieve it.
