England Logistics welcomed Bryan to the operations team as a credit analyst in March 2017. His willingness to learn and work hard led him to advance as a credit and risk analyst supervisor. Learn more about Bryan and his experience at England Logistics!

What brought you to England Logistics?

I had recently moved to Utah from Virginia and was struggling to find a foothold. Through mutual friends, I was able to connect with one of England Logistics’ managers on a Friday evening. He immediately set up an interview for me to meet with the operations team on Monday. I didn’t really feel qualified, but I’ve worked really hard. It was definitely a great decision.

How is England Logistics different than other companies you’ve worked for?

While working at other companies, I never considered turning that job into a career. There’s a major focus on career at England Logistics and examples of successful careers across the company.

What has been your most memorable moment at England Logistics?

My most memorable moment was when I was promoted to my current position as credit and risk analyst supervisor. Being able to overcome challenges and be rewarded for my hard work was a great experience. I use this as an example for my employees to set goals and work hard.

Which EL core value in COACHTeam (Career, Open communication, Accountability, Celebration, Hard work, Team) means the most to you and why?

Accountability is definitely the one that means the most to me. Holding one’s self accountable is vital for a successful life. It’s crucial to be accountable for your actions, especially if you fall short.

How does the 2019 theme “Team Up” match your own passions?

I feel it’s almost impossible to succeed in life without a helping hand. England Logistics really stressed the importance of helping each other out. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without the assistance of others, and I hope to be able to lift others up as I continue on my career path.

Do you have any advice for new or potential EL employees?

My advice is to work hard, ask questions, take notes and always act with integrity.

What’s your favorite work snack?

I’ve been on a cheese and yogurt kick lately.

What do you do for fun?

I like to hike, golf, attend Real Salt Lake games, and play Xbox with my friends back home. I’m also a big fan of board games, especially chess.

What’s your favorite show to binge watch?

“Seinfeld,” “The Office” and “Game of Thrones.”

What’s your favorite/dream vacation spot?

I would love to go to New Zealand.

What inspires you?

What continues to drive me is my passion to succeed and my desire to make my family proud.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement was definitely moving to the other side of the country by myself at 21. It was a big deal to me and led me to a great place.

What keyword or motto do you live by?

The keyword that I live by is “integrity.” That’s huge for me. I’m new to the supervisor position, but I always let my employees know that I value integrity. The motto that I live by is, “Take care of your character and your reputation will take care of itself.” My dad always used to say that to me.

What’s your favorite training program at EL?

I find our biweekly leadership meetings very useful, especially with being a new leader. We go over situations that I wouldn’t know how to handle appropriately without talking it out with other leaders in the company. It’s been a huge help.
