“I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor.” – Henry David Thoreau

Each year, a committee of England Logistics team members select a yearlong theme to motivate and inspire us and drive overall improvement. This year’s theme ‘Elevate’ is no exception. In fact, this year’s theme better summarizes EL culture in a single word more so than any comprehensive description I’ve heard.

This year’s theme promotes growth professionally and personally; individually and as a team. It’s about becoming an overall elevated individual and improving all aspects of our lives on a daily basis. It’s about supporting and stabilizing one another as we strive to reach our goals. It’s about recognizing that the achievement of our overall goals, in business or otherwise, is a byproduct of personal growth and development.

England Logistics is made up of exceptional individuals. Each employee brings a unique skillset, individual talents and personality to the team. The optimization of the individual characteristics we each possess benefits the team as a whole in reaching the best result. If we each do our part (and encourage each other) to improve ourselves and strive to achieve what may appear unachievable, then collectively there’s nothing that can stop us from becoming a better team.

To help you in your journey, England Logistics provides several programs focused on development. At the end of the day, we are each responsible for making the choice to embrace the tools and resources available to us. I encourage each of us to participate in the learning opportunities England Logistics offers and develop a plan for your future. Making the decision to better our lives and establish a clear path and foundation for improvement is the first and most important step. We have many resources to assist you.

‘Elevate’ is actionable for each of us if we choose to embrace it. This year’s theme is significant and the results of applying it to our daily lives won’t be anything less. Let’s elevate our lives and make 2017 a year to remember!
