Important Carrier Safety Information

You are undoubtedly aware that there are protests and demonstrations (mostly peaceful, but some with rioting and looting) going on in numerous cities and locations across the country. As a precaution, many cities have imposed curfews or other travel restrictions, because some of the protests could raise safety concerns. Amidst all of this,

WE WANT DRIVERS, CARRIERS AND YOUR PRODUCTS TO BE SAFE AND PROTECTED.

First and foremost, we want you/your drivers to be safe from any threat or harm. Second, we want your equipment and cargo to be protected from danger or damage. We suggest that you check the current conditions of the pick-up and delivery locations where you will be going, as well as truck stops and tire shops, to determine if any safety and/or delay issues may exist. Please communicate and adjust pick-up and delivery accordingly. We are here to receive and relay any relevant information in this regard. This information from USA Today may help you determine locations of protests.

Various cities, counties, states (locales) may have also posted applicable curfew or travel restrictions of which you should be aware.

Here are general precautionary items to be aware of based information we’ve gathered from reputable resources:
  1. Be aware of travel and curfew restrictions – obey curfews and local orders – communicate and adapt accordingly.
  2. If possible, seek routes where you can have minimal stops in protest locations – “freight at rest = freight at risk.”
  3. Keep your doors locked and be aware of circumstances around you – EXERCISE SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
  4. Stay informed through local news sources of the origins, routes and destination to and through which you will be traveling.
  5. Stay in touch with your employers’ dispatcher.
  6. If a situation appears to be too dangerous to travel into, communicate that to your dispatcher and to us, await further instruction from your dispatcher – DON’T JEOPARDIZE YOUR OWN SAFETY, the safety of your equipment or the safety of the cargo.
  7. Try to stay in well-lit areas.
  8. Use more secure seals (if possible) and keep all seals intact.
