EL acquires Dynalink Systems (01.16.2008)

England Logistics, one of America’s premier 3rd party logistics companies, announced today it has acquired freight forwarding company Dynalink Systems, of Inglewood, California. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to England Logistics president, Sean Snow, “With this acquisition, we now have offices in New York and throughout China.” He added, “This resource allows England Logistics to better manage the process of international shipping – from origin through destination. By moving upstream into China, we control freight flows, imports and exports.”

“Merging with C.R. England will bring customers the benefits of greater domestic and international capacity as well as a comprehensive, complete supply chain management solution,” said Jack Chen, president of Dynalink Systems. “With our strength in international air and ocean forwarding and England’s strength in U.S.-based transportation services, we’ve added further value to our customer relationships.”
Commanding supply chains globally has been central to England Logistics since its founding in 1994. Backed by the resources of C.R. England, Inc., England Logistics has grown to become one of the top 100 3rd party logistics (3PL) and top 50 brokerage companies in the nation. Its complete line of services have enabled C.R. England to transition from a strictly refrigerated carrier to a full-transportation provider.
“England Logistics has looked to international opportunities as an engine to fuel growth in the United States,” said Snow. As a Los Angeles-based transportation logistics company, Dynalink offers strong experience in international ocean and air forwarding, enabling us to move upon the global frontier with yet another strong resource and capability.”
England Logistics professionals offer supply chain management solutions to transport materials across the country and around the world. They provide critical logistics services for a portfolio of diverse and increasingly global clients, offering services and prices equal or often better than companies that offer similar services. England Logistics is a leading supply chain management firm. Its parent company, C.R. England, has over 85 years experience as a leader in transportation services, operating 3,400 trucks and 5,400 reefers in the 48 states, Canada and Mexico.
Founded by Jack and Maureen Chen in 1992, Dynalink was founded upon the vision of providing an all-inclusive supply chain management service. England Logistics’ investment in Dynalink means being able to offer that level of service. Chen is pleased that his customers will now receive a service backed by the vast resource, technology and capability that is England Logistics.

EL acquires Trans-Man (11.12.2007)

Salt Lake City based England Logistics, a leader in 3PL logistics services, acquired Trans-Man Logistics, Inc., based in Taylor, MI. Trans-Man is a global third party logistics company specializing in supply chain services and transportation management.

“This is an ideal company to help expand our traffic management service,” said Steven Gadd, England Logistics Vice President. “Trans-Man’s 150 years of combined industry knowledge, strong client relationships and solid financial history are core strengths we looked for in a company.”

While England Logistics will end 2007 as one of the top 50 logistics companies, it only recently began offering supply chain consulting and traffic management services. The company only just announced the acquisition of TMS, Inc., based in nearby Alma, MI. “England is dedicated to becoming a leader in third party logistics services and this acquisition will help us reach that goal,” added Gadd. C.R. England acquired the assets of Trans-Man, Inc., though terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Founded by William Barrett in 1997, Trans-Man has become known as “the discoverer of hidden profitability.” Trans-Man offers a wide range of web-based, transportation management deliverables in assisting their clients reduce freight expenses. Trans-Man is unique in the industry in the fact that they guarantee results: The savings they secure for their clients will always be greater than the Trans-Man fees – if not, the difference is paid to the client. Barrett feels the timing of this acquisition is ideal for a combination of reasons.

“The recent acquisition activity taking place in the market makes it more difficult to compete with those companies offering a larger menu of opportunities for customers,” Barrett said. “Our goal is to be the best, and England’s size helps us achieve that goal. It makes us more efficient and provides a larger menu of services to our customers.”

EL acquires TMS, Inc. (09.21.2007)

To meet growing market demand and to maintain their position as an industry leader in 3rd party logistics, Salt Lake City based England Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of C.R. England, acquired Traffic Management Services, Inc., a third party logistics company based in Alma, Michigan. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Founded by Dave Brookhouse in 1982, TMS has over 25 years of experience in traffic management. Their service offerings include: detailed transportation cost analysis, carrier rating and contracting, compliance monitoring, inbound freight management, location site studies, cost avoidance reporting, return goods management, loss and damage claims filing, and freight bill audit and payment. Brookhouse feels the timing of this acquisition is ideal for a combination of reasons.

“We’re in a competitive industry with escalating service expectations. Our two companies share the same goals and entrepreneurial culture and this acquisition makes us more efficient and offers a larger menu of opportunity for our customers,” Brookhouse said. According to Steven Gadd, Vice President of England Logistics, “This is an ideal company. TMS contains top-notch people, strong customer relationships and a superior software solution. These are core strengths we look for in a company.” Gadd stresses, “England Logistics is dedicated to becoming a leader in transportation management and supply chain services.”

TMS assists companies in reducing their annual freight expenses, both domestic and international, by performing a free-of-charge analysis of their freight bills. The study is based on the client’s shipping and receiving environment, volumes, cost by carrier, mode, class and lanes. TMS routinely reduces the client’s annual freight expense by 15 to 30%.
