To better serve your needs, we recommend and offer Marine Cargo Insurance for vessel, aircraft, railroad and truck. Insurance will protect shipper and/or consignee when losses occur by providing full coverage of value or replacement cost.
If a claim arises, please provide the following:
Evidence of Insurance, provide copy of certificate.
Itemized Statement of Claim noting amount of loss and/or repair or replacement estimates, and nature of damage.
Delivery and Dock Receipts noting exceptions.
Notices to Carrier(s) and replies received.
Bill of Lading (Front & Back of any House & Master Bills).
Commercial Invoices.
Packing List.
Pictures, photographs, and photocopies of any other physical evidence.
Survey report (required for claims exceeding $500).
C.F. 3461 or 7501 forms.
Please remember that the time limits for filing claims are critical.
For ocean shipments, it's one year from scheduled delivery. Please contact our Legal/Insurance/Claims and Collections Department for further assistance.
